Congratulations to our very own Diversity Champion, Tracey Norton! We’re delighted that Tracey’s dedicated work co-ordinating our Disabled Mothers’ Rights Campaign, and with Support Not Separation has been recognised. The award was presented by Charlotte Proudman, founder of Right To Equality, and Marie Tidball MP, who is a disabled mother herself.
Right to Equality (R2E) is “a forward-thinking non-profit organisation dedicated to reforming the family justice system in the UK. We work to address inequality, bias, and systemic failings within family law, with a particular focus on the treatment of women and children in court proceedings. The R2E Awards celebrate individuals and organisations driving meaningful change in the family justice system and advancing equality for women and children.”
Last night at the awards ceremony held in the Jubilee Room of Parliament, Lucy Hayton of R2E announced:
“The Judges’ Awards are for those who’ve made significant achievements which judges believed must be recognised but they didn’t fit into the categories which were running competitively.
“The first of our Judges’ Awards goes to Tracey Norton as Diversity Champion. Tracey is co-ordinator of WinVisible’s Disabled Mothers’ Rights Campaign focused on disabled women’s financial independence and recognition of caring work and safety including through family court proceedings. She works and supports mothers with Support Not Separation with particular focus on disabled mothers and mothers accused of Fabricated Induced Illness and parental alienation. Her brave campaigning and support to mums is noted as filling a critical gap in areas too often neglected by mainstream campaigns and services bringing hope and care to visibly and invisibly disabled women.”
