The assisted dying Bill is a Private Member’s Bill which means it is not put forward by the government as their policy.  Last year, Kim Leadbeater MP’s Bill was pushed through the House of Commons by just 23 votes and then ran out of time in the House of Lords after over 1,200 amendments were lodged, including by disabled Peers, overwhelmingly raising dangers of the Bill. Now Lauren Edwards MP has brought it back and threatens to skip important parliamentary steps to get it passed.
